Timber Single Cold Frame for overwintering plants that may be vulnerable to frosts or for bringing on your summer bedding plants.
This Cold Frame is approx. 2ft 6in wide x 3ft deep. Very robust and built to last.
It has a single hinged lid made of a translucent polycarbonate to allow light and heat in, and with a hasp and staple catch to hold it in place when closed. The lid can be propped open halfway on a stay or fully opened and held on a chain.
Cold Frames can be used all year round, not only for propagating and hardening off in the Spring but also to over-winter vulnerable plants.
They can be moved regularly and set up on soil, concrete, gravel, or paved areas as space allows; they can be lined and directly filled with soil to take the plants or are more normally used to house the plants in their pots.
Externally: 76cm wide x 95cm deep (front to back) and 49cm high at the back
Internally: 71cm W x 90 cm D x 43cm H (37cm at the front)
Made here in Dorset, to a very high standard, our Cold Frames are constructed of eco-friendly pressure-treated timber throughout with 21mm thick board onto a 35mm timber frame and with twin-wall polycarbonate roofs mounted on timber framing (no base included as standard but we can make one if required).
We despatch Cold Frames in panels via courier for simple self assembly (all fixings and full instructions provided).
Please allow up to 3-5 (working) days for delivery.
I'm really pleased with the cold frame. I also had a base added to my order and the customer service couldn't have been more helpful. It was delivered sooner than expected and was very easy to put together. It's solid and well made and should protect my carniverous plants from the harsh Scottish weather over the winter. I would have no hesitation of ordering from this firm again.
