Hints & Tips:
For getting the best out of your Woodchip see Using Hardwood Woodchip in your Chicken Run
For advice on maintenance of Hardwood Woodchip watch our video Changing your Hardwood Woodchip.
If ordering large quantities of woodchip to store for later use (very economical if you have the space to store them), then we do advise making sure there are air holes in the stored bags to allow moisture to escape and prevent sweating inside the plastic bags, which can produce (harmless) moulds.
Woodchip is often damp when bagged so the weight of the bag will vary (sometimes by up to 5kg), however, the bags are 50 litre bags so the volume in the bags is always the same no matter how wet.
Flyte so Fancy Woodchips have a nominal 10-40mm particle size and conforms to British standard BS:EN1177:2008. They do not contain recycled wood waste or bark mulch.
Hardwood Woodchips are produced from sustainably harvested British forests. FSC Certificate No CU-COC-806457. The product shall have been tested in accordance with the requirements of BS4790:1987 for fire resistance and be classified as having low potential to burn.
These Handy Bags weigh approx 15-20kg, depending on the moisture content of woodchips at the time of bagging i.e. the seasonal variations. By volume approx. 50 Litres.
Estimate one sack will cover approx 10 sq ft with a 2-3in depth (To clarify: 10 sq feet is an area of 10ft by 1ft or 1metre by 1metre).To calculate your run area:- length times width divided by 10 equals the number of bags you need. So a 9ft x 9ft run would need 8 bags (9 x 9 = 81, divide by 10 = 8).

A good and long-lasting product providing effective cover for poultry runs.
When it comes to replacing the woodchips in the chicken run this is the only choice for me. They are the best quality and last for ages. It’s a false economy to use cheaper ones as they need replacing too often. My girls love scratching around in them and they are easy to keep clean. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Does the job well and pleased I was able to collect, saving a lot in delivery charges. Chickens very happy and dry! Very efficient and friendly company.
I have always used these chips since getting my chickens 2 years ago..I love the smell of them as do my chicken always foraging in them...They keep the run clean and wouldn't use anything else...
If I had the energy I would formally complain to you.
I had a call from you taking detailed delivery instructions.
On the day the time of delivery kept changing.
At 5.20pm my partner left the address as we are not living there at the moment.
I then got a phone call from the delivery company asking where I was as they couldn’t deliver. On their email they say they only deliver 9-5. I rearranged delivery at my inconvenience for the following day. Extremely poor service especially with a high price delivery charge. Doubtful I will use you again. Terrible delivery service.
Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your order, and I am very sorry to hear that you had so many issues with the delivery. I can't see that we had any notes on this delivery problem from last week, so I have spoken to Palletline today who have confirmed that not only did the depot not inform us, they didn't inform our depot as is protocol.
It is not the kid of service we typically see from Palletline and it has been passed to our account manager in hopes of avoiding such issues in the future
