Happy Hens

My Hens love the Alfa Grit block. Ive put it in a little wall rack in their coop and they are really enjoying pecking at it.
Delivery was incredibly quick too which was perfect!

Healthy Boredom Buster

This Alfa-Grit Block smells fresh, looks super healthy, and should've been a hit with my flock, especially now during winter, when they have virtually nothing to graze on (they're free-ranging, but ate the whole lawn!). This product is definitely great quality; regrettably, not a single one of my 6 hens would touch it. I popped it in the net, left it out for days, had it at accessible height, even tried placing it on the ground - to no avail. I can only blame my fussy flock, hence the 4 stars out of 5.

Enjoyable treat!

Hens love the Alfa Grit block. I hang it in a veg net and they enjoy pecking at it.

Nutritious boredom buster

At night I only leave a treadle feeder in the run. But I do leave one of these alfalfa blocks out in a hanging basket so they can have something nice to peck at in the early morning til I come out with some good stuff. I have three hens and they take 3 months or so to get through a block. I’m glad I discovered these blocks as another boredom buster that works well for me.

Great Treat

Great peck treat for the hens who seem to like it. I planned on putting it in my hanging treat cage but it’s pretty big so did not fit. Breaking it in half worked but was quite difficult given it is very solidly compressed and has grit throughout- so I had to use a saw.

Ideally you need to use a hanging bag or similar, otherwise spend some time trying to cut it in half. Also it is a solid brick so no way to attach a rope to it to hang by itself.
