Plastic insert nest box tray to suit Chickbox Rollaway Nest Box, or to use with your own nest boxes (the Chickbox Nest Box comes with one tray as standard).

These rollaway nest bottoms can be used not only to prevent egg-eating but also for improved hygiene and speed up egg collection. They also keep the eggs cleaner as they roll away as soon as laid.

The plastic cover (included) over the collecting tray prevents any egg pecking and is clear so you can see the eggs. It is suitable for all breeds and savings can be made on bedding materials and cleaning time.

No eggs eaten 👏

Stopped the egg eating but a few hens won’t lay in them so make a nest under the nesting boxes. I guess new hens would use them as they know no different

Insert Tray with cover for Rollaway Nest Box

Packaged minimally but quick delivery. I bought roll away inserts to use with adapted nest boxes from solway because of an egg eating problem.
The nest box exterior is accessible by the hens who could see the egg through the clear plastic lid and started to peck at it through the small holes underneath. They managed to successfully crack the egg. So I used gaffs tape to block up the holes and over the clear plastic lid. They then started pushing their heads in to the roll away section and eating them that way.
Also some of the hens don’t like sitting in them so have started laying in the coop.
Any advice would be appreciated!

This wasn't my first time dealing with this company. As usual, it was a first class service - I placed the order on Sunday and received the goods on Tuesday Very good, sturdy plastic trays. We made wooden boxes to fit the inserts and they're doing just what they were designed to do. Was concerned that the hens wouldn't use them, as I have always used a deep layer of nesting material in the boxes, but they took no persuading. Nice and easy to clean and working perfectly
