Garvo 1055, now code 2055, Alfamix Pride for Birds provides a naturally balanced diet that includes shell grit, vegetables, and seeds. The food contains healthy fatty acids (for example, from linseed) and natural carotene.
A staple feed for hobby birds, the pheasant family, quails, partridges, peacocks and other ornamental and fancy birds. Alfamix Pride can be fed in a poultry feeder, allowing your birds to consume the feed ad-lib.
Most birds are omnivores; out in the open, they would naturally eat vegetation, berries, insects, and seeds. This composition is a specifically balanced diet to keep your hobby birds, whether ornamental or show birds, perfectly healthy and to help them develop a high level of natural resistance to infections.

Feeding Advice from Garvo:
You can scatter the Alfamix Feed on the ground, or place it in a food dish or tube feeder. Provide fresh water and food on a daily basis. Make sure the food is eaten up every day in order to avoid selective eating or attracting vermin.
Your birds will eat the Alfamix adlib in accordance with their nutritional needs. The quantity eaten depends on the bird’s size, level of activity, whether they are laying eggs and/or receiving any additional food by free-ranging.
We would recommend giving them the quantity of food you know they will eat over an 18 hour period once a day.
Composition: wheat, toasted extracted de-hulled soya, cracked la-plata maize, cracked maize, broken peas, extracted rape seed, maize gluten feed, limestone, wheat flakes, mussel shells, red millet, white dari, yellow millet, carrot pellets, safflower seed, peeled oats, dried amphipods, linseed, rapeseed, buckwheat, brewers yeast, lecithin.
Analytical/kg: Crude Protein 15.1%; Crude Fat 4.5%; Crude Fibre 5.4%; Crude Ash 10.6%; plus Calcium, Phosphorus, Sodium, Magnesium, Lysin, Methionin.
Standard delivery via courier is next working day to most mainland UK destinations for orders placed before 2pm (excl. weekends and bank holidays).

As this is the third time I have purchased this item, I would think you would realise that I like it, my only concern is the price when delivery is added, as a pensioner it is a lot to find

Chooks love this stuff! Although it is more expensive than most others, they’re not wasting it by pecking out the bits they don’t eat.
I've been using Garvo Alfa Mix for my chickens for a few years now and I swear they are living longer as a consequence of it!! I feel they are getting a full healthy diet of mixed seed, veg, shrimps & grit. They don't need anything else. Flyte of Fancy as a company are brilliant. I have bought most of my hen and duck/goose items from them. Everything gets delivered really quickly.

Chickens absolutely love this feed they now won’t eat anything else!
I am now feeding my non-laying bantams this mix all the time as they love it - except for the orange extruded bits (?carrot?) which no chicken has ever eaten. I wish they weren't in the mix - I either have to weed them out before or pick them all up after. I also gave Alfamix to my laying hens as a treat - much preferred to boring old pellets - but I was never sure if it had sufficient protein and calcium for the layers so they mainly had to have pellets.
My hens love this feed and not just the ‘nice’ bits. They’re really good at eating all of it (not selectively) which means that even the pellets in it must be pretty tasty. I feel like I’m giving them a treat which is really a balanced feed.
It’s just a bit more interesting for them.
I couldn't possibly praise Garvo Alfamix for Chickens highly enough. My little assorted flock absolutely love this. It is the only feed they've shown an unflinching inclination towards. I have tried various reputable brands of layers' pellets, before settling for Garvo, and am honestly not bothered paying a bit extra, to ensure that my girls are healthy, well-fed, and happy. My quite fussy chickens love this mix - and it saves time making them up a mix.
My crew love this feed, lots of variety means they do not "go off" it. my Quail also like a handful as a change from their usual food. The little shrimp, in the mix, are much favored by hens and Quail alike. I can be sure they are getting a good balance of nutrition and they are happy so it is win all round

My 4 chickens absolutely love this food & always gobble it up when I feed them. Their egg yolks are a beautiful colour since switching to this organic food too so I’m really happy & so are my chicks.

This is a great feed but has lost a star because my hens leave the pellets, They possibly over feed on all the other bits, I leave the pellets down on their own when they have finished the rest, and they graze them occasionally but I worry that they don’t get a balanced diet. As always service from flyte so fancy was excellent

I have tried countless brands of feed for my chickens. Some they ate for a few days, and if I was lucky they might finish a bag but that was it. Then I tried Garvo Alfamix and I haven't looked back. I have been feeding this mix for nearly a year now and everyday they eat it with relish with no waste. I have happy, healthy chickens who look great. Worth every penny. I wouldn't buy anything else now.

Nice mix I must have the fussiest bantams though as they really do bother with it.
My three girls really like their Garvo Alfamix. The only thing they leave is the pellets. They don't like any sort of pellet.

Do I still have to worm them
Yes Rita, Alfamix is just a high quality feed, it does not contain a wormer. We recommend worming at least twice a year with Flubendazole/Flubenvet.
