READ MOREDESCRIPTION
Durdle Door Wall Mounted Garden Bird House, made in Dorset by Flyte so Fancy to their Framebow design.
An elegantly curved arch birdhouse that will make a truly gorgeous featurette for your garden. Easy to mount onto a wall, fence or timber building. The nesting holes are 60mm in diameter so will encourage a wide range of garden birds from Blue Tits to Starlings.
Handcrafted here in our Dorset workshop and constructed using FSC approved, pressure-treated, joinery-grade, Scandinavian Redwood. The arched roof is 25mm T&G Shiplap timber whilst all other walls and floors are 19mm T&G boards.
Before it leaves us we apply a clear waterproofing to the roof but, if you wish to paint the Bird House when it arrives, we advise a light sanding to remove this coating before paint application. A good quality outdoor microporous paint is recommended. We advise an annual maintenance regime to clean thoroughly internally and an application of wood oil or clearsealer applied externally.
The front panel is removable for easy cleaning. With this simple maintenance your Bird House will be protected against all weathers, and the pressure treated timber keeps out rot and fungal attack for 15 years.
The Bird House should be mounted in place by screwing from the inside back panel into your wall or fence.
Dimensions (external): 84cm wide at the base; 45cm deep (front to back); 72cm high (approx. 2ft 9in wide x 1ft 6in deep x 2ft 4in high).
