400g of Diatomaceous Earth (DE) from Flyte so Fancy in an easy to use puffer pack.

You can use Diatomaceous Earth throughout the henhouse or animal housing as it removes moisture and maintains a dry environment. By sprinkling the DE powder in the nestboxes, bedding and on perches where the chickens roost it will ensure that the henhouse remains dry, clean and sweet-smelling as well as prevent damp areas where mites, moulds and lice can thrive. We advise wearing gloves and a dustmask when using DE as iit is dusty.

DE is a 100% natural silicate product prepared from the fossilised remains of ancient hard-shelled algea from river beds so is totally natural. For centuries DE has been used in grain stores for example, and on animals against external parasites like lice, fleas and mites; can also given in animal feed for general good health.

Instructions for use :

4. Once the hen house is dry, add fresh bedding.

During warmer months it is advised that you use Flyte Mite Spray on a fortnightly basis to reduce the risk of red mite when their reproduction is at its peak. Use weekly when treating against an infestation.

Flyte Coop and Run Sanitising Powder is a new generation ground sanitiser and super absorbent powder. Cal-Boost is a Poultry Calcium Liquid Concentrate from Flyte so Fancy.

A concentrated calcium and mineral supplement containing Vitamin D3 which, when added to drinking water, will help to improve egg shell quality, thickness and strength as well as aid heart function and build strong bones. Formulated for both breeding and laying birds.

Calcium is crucial for poultry. Like most other animals it is vital for the growth of strong healthy bones. However, in egg laying fowl its needs are twofold. Calcium is the key ingedient for good egg shells so, giving a calcium boost to poultry at times of stress, illness or during winter when daylight hours are short, is beneficial. Cal-Boost contains liquid calcium for strong bones and strengthened egg shells, as well as giving other heart benefits. It also contains vitamin D3 which is essential to help metabolise the calcium in the body.

Instructions for use:
Shake the bottle well before use. Add Cal-Boost to your birds’ drinking water. The dosage rate is 2 DROPS of Cal-Boost to 1 litre of water equivalent to 1ml per 5 litres of drinking water. The treatment of Cal-Boost is most effective during the latter part of the day (during the second part of the photoperiod) but you can add Cal-Boost each time you refill your drinkers as a matter of course. Treatment should continue for at least 7 days and can be reintroduced at a later date as and when required.

The Boredom Buster® Pecking Ring is a natural, solid 568g net (1.25lb) block of tasty nibbles for chickens.

The chickens love it; it keeps them clean, gives them something to scratch in all day long, washes through with the rain and only needs changing perhaps once or twice a year. Much better than bark, which we do not advise because of the mould spores, and bark does become slushy after the rain; softwood would degrade very quickly and just work its way into the mud; hardwood woodchip though will just sit on top of the ground and can easily withstand all weathers; even though it is a hardwood it is still soft enough for the birds and best replicates the surfaces of their ancestoral roots from the jungle. We have found this woodchip is an absolutely perfect surface for chickens.

Flyte so Fancy Hard Wood Chips have a nominal 10-40mm particle size and conforms to British standard BS:EN1177:1998. They do not contain recycled wood waste or bark mulch. These Handy Bags weigh approx 12-17kg, depending on moisture content of woodchips i.e. the season. Estimate one sack will cover approx 10 sq ft with a 2"-3" depth (To clarify: 10 sq feet is an area of 10ft by 1ft, or approx 1metre by 1metre). To calculate your run area:- length times width divided by 10 equals the number of bags you need. So a 9ft x 9ft run would need 8 bags (9 x 9 = 81, divide by 10 = 8).
