The Raptor 0.8 joule Electric Fence Energiser from Hotline Electric Fencing offers greater flexibility than ever before. It is a multi-power energiser for small poultry pens and portable strip grazing, as well as small-medium length fence lines.

The Raptors are powered by mains power so it would need installing near a mains socket, the cables for mains power are included but have approx 1m length. if you need to install the energiser quite a way from the fence you may need additional lead-out cable and crocodile clips.

Alternatively, if necessary, this energiser can be powered by either a 6v Dry Alkaline battery, housed inside (not included but available separately) or an external 12v Leisure Battery (available from outlets like Halfords)

The innovative rotating LED indicator on the front will give you clear indication of the fence line health and tell you, for example, when the battery is low, if there is mains power loss or if there is fault.

With 1.7 joules of stored energy, the Raptor HLB170 energiser can power up to 200m of poultry netting or 18km of fence wire.

The 1.7 joule Raptor energiser includes all of the new innovative features and it packs quite a punch at an affordable price.

Easy to use, LED fence state indicator light, come with metal stand and carry handle. Can be powered from either a 6 volt (PJ996) internal battery, 12v External Leisure Battery or from Mains outlet socket.

Suitable for large poultry pens and longer length fence lines.

To connect a mains energiser to the fence and also to the earth stake you need single core lead out cable. Also used to take power across gateway, underground, or to connect a series of earth stake for longer electric fences.

Hotline Raptor Energisers

The Hotline Electric Fencing is the Raptor range of energisers is quite a unique development to give you flexibility in your fencing system combined with simplicity of operation.

The Raptor can be powered either by a 6v battery housed internally (50Amp/hour recommended), which can be bought here 6v 50Amp/hr Lantern Battery or at some hardware stores; a 12v leisure battery or from mains power with the included adapter. Depending on your fence length and type, the 6v battery can be its primary power source, although it will be a reduced voltage level but for long fences then the 12v battery or mains would be best with the 6v battery as back-up.

The Raptor comes with its own galvanised metal stand and this can serve as the earth stake on shorter fence systems although for netting and longer fences we would recommend a separate earth stake. It also has a robust UV stable ABS case.

The Raptors also include a unique rotating fence line indicator light so that you can always see the state of your fence. The LED lights spin with every pulse and show you, at a glance, how much voltage is running through your fence line. It measures the resistance in the fence line, giving a true indication of fence performance. In addition, the central red LED will start to flash when the 12v battery is low, or when the energiser has switched over to the internal 6v battery.

Although the Raptors come with cables for 12v operation and mains operation, we would suggest that for mains operation it is worth checking how far away from your fence you will need to install the energiser. The mains leads included are approx 1m so you may also need to purchase longer HT lead out cable to cover greater distances (and crocodile clips for connecting to the fence). Links below.
