This chicken feed container can be easily mounted with the included Velcro straps (2 x 50cm long). These can be used horizontally or vertically so the feeder can be mounted in different places, e.g. on the wire mesh of a run or a piece of timber.
As it can be mounted at chicken-head height, this type of feeder should help prevent unwanted birds and rodents from eating the feed. It is also a great feeder for just a few hens as it doesn’t take up any ground space inside the chicken run.
The top of the feeder slopes slightly towards the front to ensure the feed is protected from the rain. At the back, it also slants slightly to prevent water from accumulating.
The feeder can be filled from the front with different types of feed, like corn or pellets (capacity for pellets approx. 1kg), but probably best used for snacks and treats to keep them dry and off the ground. The flat space at the top can also be used for green treats like chopped veggies.
Dimensions: 30cm wide x 13cm deep x 13cm high. Can be cleaned in the dishwasher on an eco setting.
