Poultry Protection Pens - Protect your Chickens from Predators The Flyte so Fancy Poultry Protection Pen, (see photos below) is a bio-secure chicken run with an optional solid roof to help minimise your poultry's contact with the wild bird population, predators and any other contaminants. We have been making this Pen for over four years now and it is proving to be an extremely popular, useful Run for many animals when security is an issue. The Protection Pen is an enclosed run which comes in flat wired panels for you to simply screw together (full instructions included!). Completely wired in strong one inch x half inch weldmesh which is small enough to prevent little birds jumping in (NOT chicken wire because foxes will chew through chicken wire), and made with a 38mm x 38mm pressure treated timber framework for strength. The Pen has been tested in all weathers and designed to be transported in panels. It is a very strong, rigid unit and has braces on joints along the long side, and on the roof panel joins too, to maintain rigidity. We have designed the Pen so that it is structurally stable in bad weather (this is no flimsy, 'blow-away' unit) and we can offer advice about siting if necessary.
Available as 9ft x 9ft; 9ft x 12ft; 9ft x 15ft; 9ft x 18ft; 9ft x 21ft and the largest feasible size at 9ft x 24ft. Max height inside is 6ft 6in for all Pens. PLEASE check exact sizes given below for each Pen as we build in cm but round up or down to feet for ease.
Options to add to this Pen are a Set of Handles (only useful up to 9ft x 15ft) to enable moving of the pen and a Mating Panel to connect your Henhouse to the outside of the Pen which, if for a non-Flyte so Fancy House, please give measurements.
We have added the option of a Solid Polycarbonate Roof for all our Protection Pens and have managed to avoid PVC sheeting (too easily ripped off), Polytunnels (too hot and humid in summer), Plywood (too horrid altogether) and Onduline (too ugly). This solid roof option is, for example £142 for a 9 x9 Pen, and this will give a long-term, UV stable, secure, solid roof. (Please note: we advise that you do not allow an accumulation of snow on the roof of a Pen as the weight could damage the roof).
Currently 2 - 3 week delivery (phone for up to the minute dates). The Pens are delivered flatpacked, wrapped and strapped on a pallet via Palletline carrier. Exact delivery date will be detailed in separate confirmation email.
