We have just finished assembling our 'Maggies 24 Henhouse' and I just had to write and say THANK YOU. It went together like a dream. This is the best piece of workmanship we have seen for a long time.
Since our change of lifestyle earlier this year we have had to assemble numerous bits of equipment and have faced all kinds of bad workmanship and faulty goods.
Your Henhouse has restored our faith in British workmanship, and every dealing with your company has been courteous and polite (we had been sent a wrong part which was not picked up on by us for a couple of weeks and the right part was swiftly sent by yourselves once we noticed...thank you).
Our chickens have now taken up residence in their new house and will be getting some more playmates to keep them company now we have more space.

Hi Anne
Just a quick note to say that we think this new product is terrific. We previously used the peckablocks but, seeing that you didn't stock them anymore, thought we'd give these a go instead.
My hens always liked the peckablocks especially when it rained. However, they actually prefer the rings and the rings last longer because they are stickier. They even return to have a nibble when they are out freeranging so they must like them - our rather elderly Rhode Island Red hybrid, who is very much in the twilight of her years, likes nothing better than to sit down beside the ring and have a nibble of an afternoon leaving the younger ex-battery hens to frolic round the garden!
We reuse the strings so are getting quite a collection going, however, my mum makes use of them in her patchwork making so everyone a winner!
We'll definitely return for more when our current stock runs out. Best wishes Kate Vose 30/7/09

I am so glad I rang you on Friday - we were beginning to wonder if we were going to have the chickens on the front drive!! It was, as you said, easy to disassemble to move and reassembly was easy as we had seen how it should look. The run was more tricky but that too is up and the whole house and run look fantastic. The Boredom Buster Pecking Ring is a great product - the hens love it! I've just ordered 5 more. Feather pecking was a problem until we put the ring in, it has now stopped completely. Mr Hall 5/7/09

Hi, Just to let you know that our chickens love the boredom buster ring and peck away at it merrily. The only downside is that our Sussex chicken who is normally a very clean white chicken, now has a black neck, throat and comb area, as the molasses from the ring covers her when she pecks it. Perhaps it could be stuck together with something clear for those with white chickens!!! 2/7/09

Just wanted to say how pleased I was with the Maggie Six long legged henhouse. It arrived on the day/time promised (a rare occurrence in my experience of deliveries).
The set up instructions were excellent it took myself (not a diyer), 10 year old son and an electric screwdriver only 20 mins to assemble. The pre drilled holes were a godsend.
The house is of excellent quality and the hens seems very happy!
I took a long time to choose your houses over the many others available, but I made the right choice.

If only their were more kinds of toys for Chickens maybe you could supply or design a kong toy for chickens to push around so they can get treats out of. Bought this two days I'm impressed with the speedy delivery and how well packed everything is. The Boredom Buster is a great toy my Brahmas love food so this is great for them, as they have been pecking away at it ever since I set it up for them. My Poland's however are too frightened of it to use it yet however their curiosity is slowly causing them to approach and inspect it closer I'm sure they will come around to it when they realise it is full of food. Hello! Just a quick note to say thanks for the house which arrived today. Palletline managed to load it on to a lorry which was too small to unload from (the rear lifter was too small for the pallet!)but we took it off piece by piece and got there!
Also, incase the question arises from another potential purchaser, the hen-house can be carried in pieces through a person house, down garden steps and across a large garden, through 2 gates and a field and put together with an old fashioned screwdriver (because all the electric ones were not re-charged by hubby last time he used them)by a 40yr old determined and impatient female hen keeper with not much DIY experience beyond IKEA flat packs.It was heavy (!) but can be done single handed! Thanks for making the instructions so clear, and the pieces so easy to fit together, and providing all the bits required!
I might be back for a duck house, and do you make houses for pygmy goats? (or teenage children?)

Dear Anne,

I wanted to let you know that earlier today I fitted the above items to my Maggie Dozen hen house. I have to be honest I was a little worried about fitting the opener etc and the extra bits of joinery required - however, with the excellent diagrams and straight forward pieces to be fitted it is all working well (unlike my back after a couple of hours inside a hen house!!). I celebrated my success with poached egg on toast, kindly donated by a couple of my hens while I was busy working.

Just wanted to say what a fabulous product you have there - my 3 girls LOVE their penthouse suite.

They are very safe and warm and even in the recent bad weather they were very dry and happy. They appreciate the heart shaped window and peck on it in the mornings to let me know they are ready to get up.

It was easy to build (as far as my diligent observations went) and is very easy to clean on a daily and then monthly basis - and even with my bad back we can move it around the garden easily.

Thanks - my foray into chickens has been made easy and enjoyable because of your lovely house.
PS Only downside is my kids want to squat there during the day...

Just to let you know that my henhouse arrived today. I have been working from home today and my husband is out, so frustratingly I have had to leave it under plastic wrap at the moment, but it looks great. It was a lovely surprise to have it already erected.

Just a quick note to thank you for the safe despatch and receipt of our new hen house.
I was a bit concerned when I realised it was being delivered palletised, after first-hand experience of these type of large goods with carriers, but I need not have worried.
The pallet arrived safe and sound with the hen house safely secured and without any damage at all, so send a bit of praise to your couriers!

The real reason for my email though is how impressed I am with the quality of your product. Pressure treated timber used in a well thought out design, and superbly built.

How nice it is these days to be able to say all of these things, which amounts to good old fashioned quality and service. Well done!

Thanks for that, they seem to be fine now and the eggs are lovely and clean compared to when they were in the Omlet Cube!! They sorted themselves out in the end, it is impossible to go anywhere near the hen house at night without them piling out in a bundle of feathers to say hello!!! And I thought they were meant to be comatose at night!!!

Just to say a belated many thanks for the wonderful poultry protection pen, which is working brilliantly. We have the large pen and use it for five guinea fowl, a Silkie hen and her two hatchlings.

The Silkie has a gentle nature and gets on well with the equally soft fowl. We let the birds out when we are here and keep them caged up when we are not. The guinea fowl are currently sitting happily on top of the pen to survey their territory and have shown no sign of wandering off even though they could easily do so.

It obviously meets with their approval. We easily put the pen together even though we are pretty bad at self assembly projects and should anyone wish for a recommendation, do not hesitate to mention us.
