The Poultry Keeper Chicken House Fumer is an insectidcidal smoke generator for amatuer use to fumigate animal and poultry housing against flying and crawling insects such as houseflies, mosquitoes, wasps, fleas, bedbugs, ants, red mite, lice and poultry mites. Particularly useful to kill red mite in the chicken coop.

Place the fumer inside the cleaned, closed house (keep animals and birds away), ignite and leave for at least two hours. The Fumer will smoke for 30-50 seconds to fill the house. You will need to close and seal as many gaps as possible around the henhouse for the most effective use. For red mite treatment follow up with either Poultry Shield and Diatom Powder, or Protector P Spray and Red Mite Powder from the same Poultry Keeper Range (below) to eradicate any remaining mites. Rate of application for mites and lice: 30 cubic metres per generator.

Pyrethrin is a natural insecticide, derived from the Chrysanthemum flower (Pyrethrum). It has been used to control pests for over a century and is generally considered quite safe. There are two types of Pyrethrins found in these flowers - appropriately called Pyrethrin I and Pyrethrin II - they are usually combined in pest control formulas.

Pyrethrin should not be confused with Permethrin which is a synthetic version of this insecticide and therefore has better residual properties. The natural and artificial substances, though similar, have different properties and important differences in their level of safety, especially around pets.
