Junior Poultry Protection Pens

A wired, completely enclosed, walk-in run for chickens, ducks or any small pets. Single entrance door in apex end. Also siutable to put small houses inside for isolation units, or small broody units or just to house a few rabbits or guinea pigs. Also suitable for use with our Dinky Duck/Animal House for example.

Made with a rigid framework using pressure treated framing with strong weldmesh covering all panels. Includes handles for ease of movement. Click on image to enlarge.

After much customer demand - we have added a baby version of our very popular Poultry Protection Pen. This tall walk-in run can have many uses for many different birds and animals.

The Junior Protection Pen is an enclosed run which comes in flat wired panels for you to simply screw together (full instructions included!). Completely wired in strong one inch x half inch 18g weldmesh which is small enough to prevent little birds jumping in (NOT chicken wire because foxes will chew through chicken wire), and made with a 38mm x 38mm pressure treated timber framework for strength. The Pen has been tested in all weathers and designed to be transported in panels. It is a very strong, rigid unit and has braces on joints along the long side, and on the roof panel joins too, to maintain rigidity.

Mating Panels to suit all of our henhouses are also available (below) so that the house can be placed outside the Pen and join neatly at one end.

Actual Dimensions (external):- 163cm wide (5ft 4in) x 283cm long (9ft 3in) x 194cm (6ft 5in). Door width 71cm, height 139cm. The door opens outwards and has a sturdy galvanised brenton bolt so that it can be padlocked if required.

With this added cover the Pen can used for rabbits, guinea pigs, ornamental birds, cats, small dogs, meerkats, quail, bantams, pheasants - not to mention ducks and chickens!

The woodchip is an excellent, hygienic, surface for the birds - almost self-cleaning. Just wash with a hose if we haven't had any rain, refresh perhaps twice a year, and you can just scatter some powder disinfectant over it once a month to keep it fresh. Much more healthy than bare soil for the birds, and much less smelly too.

The packs contain a set of pressure treated timbers, 10in x 5in, to create a raised plinth for a Poultry Protection Pen and the right number of bags of hardwood woodchip to create a clean, perfect surface for the hens. The sleepers (as shown, softwood tanalised - not oak) will be cut to the lengths required and will come with an instruction sheet to aid placement (its just like putting lego together really!).
