They are larvae of a beetle which feed on vegetables, unlike maggots that feed on rotting meat. Additional protein in your hens diet is an excellent option when they are going through the moult. Hens need a lot of protein to grow their new feathers.

Natures Grub Freeze-dried mealworms are additive-free and have the nutrition of live mealworms but not the moisture. Premium dried to keep all the nutrients safe inside. If you wish, they can be soaked for a few minutes in warm water to rehydrate them. Easy to sprinkle, supplied in resealable tubs. Store in a cool, dry place.
