100m Electric Poultry Netting Kits

We have included here the new dual power energiser from Hotline as a mains energiser but it can also be used as a battery energiser for a 12v battery - so if you change your mind or find you cannot use mains anymore, simply add a 12v battery tot he system and then the energsier can be placed outside (on a wall or post) near to the fence. The Gemini 120 is a new generation of energiser which maximises the power available as well as the ability to use with both mains or 12v battery (note: it will not automatically switch from one to the other it must be changed over manually). The Gemini 120 could power up to 5 x 50m nets so extending your system is a simple as adding more nets.

Our 100m kit includes 2 x 50m Poultry Nets, each with 15 posts, plus 10 extra black Netting Posts to keep the net taut especially over sloping or uneven ground. This will cover an area of approx. 625sq m (roughly 80ft x 80ft in a square).

If your ground is uneven or sloping it may be worth adding more Black Flexi Posts which also avoids the frustration of never having a post in quite the right place, although each net comes with 15 posts (plus the 10 extra in the kit) this may not be enough in all situations, select from the link below. There is a post inserted approx 1m from the end of the net to make a gateway into the pen. By using this section of the net as your entry point in and out of the pen you will prevent a lot of wear and tear on the main net.

This 100m (2 x 50m Green Nets) Electric Netting Kit uses a Hotline Falcon Energiser which is also suitable for many other farm uses such as electric sheep nets or electrified cattle wire. We recommend you use only 12v Energisers with 50m+ poultry netting as lower voltages will not put enough 'oomph' through the longer lengths of netting.

The Falcon Energiser should be powered by a 12v Re-chargeable Leisure 75/85 amp/hr Battery (not included in this kit but available separately, use link below) and the battery charge should last approx 4 weeks - we do recommend that the battery is charged every two weeks though in order to keep it in best condition.

The Falcon has an output of 1.2 joules, an on/off switch, and has low and high power options, so could power four 50m nets on high which makes extending the kit easy by just adding another net. We have included 10 extra black Flexi-Posts to help keep the net taut especially over sloping or uneven ground. These two 50m nets will cover an area of approx. 625 sq m (approx 80ft x 80ft).

Pack of 10 extra black flexi-posts for Green Poultry Netting.

Extra posts are sometimes needed for poultry netting especially if you have an awkwardly shaped poultry pen, restricted access round the pen or, sloping and uneven ground. Every netting installation is different and the posts included should be sufficient for most cases, however we recommend you consider adding these posts to a net or kit order, especially with a 25m net (which we often think never has enough posts) and as the posts are never in the right place for every situation. Sagging can be often remedied by adding extra posts where netting changes direction and combined with guy ropes the net should be quite taut.

This 85 amp/hr, re-chargeable 12v Leisure Battery comes with a built-in charge level indicator and carry handle. It also has double terminals so it can take a trickle charge whilst being used. Heavt Duty battery for leisure and marine use.

For use with any 12v Electric Fence Battery Energiser e.g. Hotline Hobby Energiser, Hotline Gemini, Gallagher BatteryMaster, Wolseley Midge etc.

We always recommend the use of leisure-type batteries with electric fencing. They are designed to be discharged and then re-charged whereas car batteries are not. This battery should have a life of 200 cycles so will last quite a number of years.

Although a charge will last approx 6 weeks we do recommend that they are recharged every 2 weeks or so to keep the battery in best condition. This battery has a depth of discharge of 70% and we have found that if allowed to discharge fully it could damage the plates and it will be very hard to get it to take a full charge properly again. Also, we do recommend with this battery that at least a 7 amp battery charger be used if possible.
